Dear fellow photographer,
Imagine, a constant, incoming stream of photography sales... waking up in the morning to see your inbox crammed with You've Made A Sale notifications...
Just ponder that rather comforting thought for a second... OK, now WAKE up! Yeah, I'm all for thinking big, but there's one small problem with this splendid idea that could stop you from actually ever achieving it...
And in fact you may have already experienced this if you've ever tried selling your artwork or original photos online. So, what is it then?
Well, simply put, selling your own unique photos takes WAY TOO MUCH time, money and effort...
However, don't just take my word for it. Let's suppose you want to create and sell one of your own framed photos: (Maybe like the one to the left).
This is what you'd need to DO...
Go print your photo on trusty inkjet printer, or search for the nearest, reliable, color LAB that'll print to your exact specifications (without it costing the earth!)
Get searching for a suitable, low cost, lightweight photo frame, and the right packing materials...
Make sure to check the weights and shipping costs, and...
Spend hours packing your photo print, make sure it's all perfectly packaged so that no damage occurs, and then try to find a company who's willing to take the hefty courier risk to ship it worldwide...
Sheesh...
How much is your time worth to you?!
Needless to say, it's hardly worth the trouble! In fact, it's a wonder anyone would even bother to sell their own photographs this way. It's just way, way too time consuming...
Until now! You see, what happened was that I came across an ingenius solution that showed me how to create and sell my own unique photo products using CafePress. (Yes, I'm talking real framed prints, posters too).
But here's where it gets a little weird...
CafePress will print, frame and ship your photo product to your customer...
But your customer actually receives it FROM you!
How can this be?
Well, I would explain here, but you'll understand better by reading the guide!
Anyway, to keep it simple, when I 'discovered' this idea I was SUPER excited... Being a passionate photographer I immediately whipped out 5 of my best images and ran an eBay listing to see if this "crazy" idea would make me some long awaited photo sales.
You'll be glad to know too that I was skeptical as all heck that this would ever work...
